Employees working underneath the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) on the Civil Hospital continued with their protest for the second week on Monday. The agitating workers has been at loggerheads with the federal government over regularisation of their companies.
Alleging that not one of the officers involved has come to hearken to their grievances, some NRHM workers climbed atop the water tank and began elevating slogans in opposition to the state authorities.
Sensing the gravity of the protest, officers reached the spot and tried to pacify them. After an hour of sloganeering, the protesting workers got here down and handed over a memorandum to Naib Tehsildar Avinash Chander, who assured them of their assembly with the Deputy Commissioner.
Vipan Kumar, a member of the NRHM, mentioned they have been demanding a wage hike.
