New Delhi, July 09: Of the 78 ministers within the Cabinet, 42 per cent have declared criminal cases against them with 4 having cases associated to try to homicide, in line with a report by ballot rights group ADR.
As many as 15 new cupboard ministers and 28 ministers of state have been sworn in on Wednesday, taking the power of the council of ministers to 78. Of all of the ministers analysed, 33 (42 per cent) have declared criminal cases against themselves, stated the Association for Democratic Reforms report citing their ballot affidavits.

About 24 or 31 per cent ministers have declared critical criminal cases together with cases associated to homicide, try to homicide, theft and many others. Nisith Pramanik from Cooch Behar constituency who has been appointed because the Minister of State for Home Affairs has declared a case associated to homicide (IPC Section-302) against himself.
