Hundreds of farmers from Haryana are coming into Chandigarh from the Panchkula aspect, whereas these from Punjab have entered from Mohali aspect.
Fearing enormous chaos in Chandigarh, a confrontation between farmers and the police is predicted on the metropolis entry level. Heavy barricading and safety have been deployed in and round Chandigarh. BKU chief Gurnam Singh Charuni mentioned they may sit peacefully on the entry level if police won’t enable them to enter Chandigarh.
The farmers had lined up since Saturday morning of their automobiles alongside Zirakpur roads and Amb Sahib gurdwara in Phase 8 in Mohali awaiting inexperienced sign from their leaders to march in direction of Chandigarh. The police have erected barricades at a number of locations.
Farmers marched from Mohali’s Amb Shahib Gurdwara to Chandigarh by way of YPS chowk at 1pm. The protesters have been carrying farmers union flags on tractors, automobiles and strolling on foot. The farmers raised slogans in opposition to the Centre authorities.
Heavy site visitors jam was witnessed within the metropolis. Many farm activists are coming to Chandigarh in busses. the Panchkula Police mentioned that they’d solely enable one delegation of farmers to enter Chandigarh.Farmers have began gathering close to the Chandigarh border. Watercannons, vehicles, dumpers have been deployed on the entry level.

The morcha had introduced to observe June 26 as “Kheti bachao, loktantra bachao” (save farming, save democracy) day on the completion of seven months of the farmers’ protest and the forty seventh anniversary of Emergency in India.
