Anti-terror federal probe company NIA on Tuesday stated it has arrested two absconding accused individuals, belonging to Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), in reference to the killing of Comrade Balwinder Singh Sandhu, a Shaurya Chakra awardee in Tarn Taran district of Punjab.
Officials in the company stated that NIA sleuths arrested Harbhinder Singh alias Pinder, resident of Jeobala, and Navpreet Singh alias Nav, a resident of Jhamke, in Tarn Taran district of the state.
A senior NIA official stated, “Investigation has revealed that absconding accused Navpreet Singh and Harbhinder Singh are shut aides of cost sheeted accused Inderjit Singh alias Inder, who had performed the reconnaissance of the goal and had been actively concerned in the conspiracy of killing of Comrade Balwinder Singh Sandhu.”
The official additional stated that each the arrested accused had been produced earlier than NIA Special Court in Mohali at present, which ordered to ship them to the company’s custody for 4 days for interrogation and additional investigation in the case.
The case was initially registered by Punjab Police in Tarn Taran in reference to the murder of Comrade Balwinder Singh at his residence-cum-school in Bhikhiwind space of the district on October 16, 2020.
Later NIA took over the investigation in the case after registering the case on January 26, 2021.
NIA had earlier filed a cost sheet in opposition to eight accused individuals in the case.
