Chandigarh/Dera Baba Nanak: The martyr Sepoy Pargat Singh (21 Punjab) who sacrificed his life within the line of obligation at Siachen glacier in a snow storm, was in the present day cremated with full military honours at his ancestral village Daburji close to Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur. The martyr left behind his father S. Pritam Singh, mom Sdn. Sukhwinder Kaur and a pair of sisters.
The Cabinet Minister S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa laid wreath on the mortal stays of the martyr on behalf of the State Government and stated that those that make the supreme sacrifice within the line of obligation are the treasure trove of the nation and all of us are pleased with Shaheed Sepoy Pargat Singh who’s an inspiration for the youth of the nation.
Divulging extra, S. Randhawa stated that the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has introduced an ex gratia of Rs. 50 lakh moreover a Government job to a member of the family of the braveheart. He assured the bereaved household that the State Government and he himself would lengthen each potential help to them.
It is noteworthy that in a avalanche on April 25, 2021 in Siachen glacier, Sepoy Amardeep Singh (Barnala) and Sepoy Prabhjot Singh (Mansa) from 21 Punjab had been martyred whereas Sepoy Pargat Singh from the identical unit was taken out from underneath the snow on April 27, 2021 and evacuated to the Command Hospital Chandigarh the place he succumbed to Hypothermia and extreme damage to lungs on May 8.
