The police on Tuesday arrested Bathinda Mayor Raman Goyal’s husband Sandeep Goyal together with 11 individuals, together with two (*11*) municipal councillors, 5 husbands of (*11*) councillors and 5
different (*11*) leaders, who attended the (*11*) councillors’ party at Three Palms Resorts in Bathinda on Friday night time in violation of COVID-19 norms.
Apart from Sandeep Goyal, different arrested individuals are municipal councillors Sukhraj Aulakh, Rattan Rahi, (*11*) leaders Vipin Kumar, former MC Sanjay Biswal, Nand Lal Singla, Charanjit Singh alias Bhola, Gurpreet Singh alias Bunty, Gurmeet Singh, Ram Singh Virk and Megh Raj.
SSP Bathinda Bhupinder Jeet Singh Virk mentioned, “We have recognized and arrested 11 individuals at this time. They joined in the investigation and have been launched on bail. Further investigation is occurring. The remaining will even be arrested inside a day or two.”
It is pertinent to say that (*11*) leaders organised a largely attended celebratory perform at Three Palms Resorts, situated on the outskirts of the town on Goniana highway in Bathinda, in violation of the COVID-19 norms on Friday night time.
Efforts have been made to hush-up the matter however the images of the party went viral on social media and media highlighted the difficulty.
Facing flak, Bathinda police registered an FIR and arrested resort proprietor Rajiv Kumar after sealing the resort and at this time extra arrests have been made in this case.
