A group of CIA employees busted a 6-member gang who had been illegally taking out spirit from two tankers on Tuesday night.
The accused allegedly colluded with the drivers of the tankers and extracted the spirit despatched by factories at Sansarpur Terrace in Himachal Pradesh to varied locations, in plastic cans of 35 litres.
According to sources, they bought these cans for Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,300 per can. The police have recovered 2 tankers of spirit and cans used to steal the spirit. The accused used to promote it to reportedly making fake liquor out of it. The Talwara police have registered an FIR on this regard below sections 328, 379, 380 and the Excise Act towards the accused. The investigation is happening and main revelations are anticipated within the case with the inclusion of extra accused.
The CIA employees obtained info whereas patrolling close to Adda Ambi that some individuals had been taking out the spirit from the tankers behind a Dhaba close to Baringali Khadd. These individuals used the mentioned spirit to make fake liquor and promote it as high-quality liquor.
The identification of these booked within the case was confirmed as Gurwinder Singh, a resident of Jhugian village below police station Julka, district Patiala, Dara Khan, a resident of Gadri Nagar, Shambhu, Patiala, Rakesh alias Baba, a resident of Gangwal, below police station Indora District Kangra Himachal Pradesh, Narinder alias Rinku, a resident of Sohal village, below police station Dhariwal, district Gurdaspur, Gurcharan Singh alias Sinta, a resident of Tanda Chudian below Police Station Hajipur and Dinesh, a resident of Dinanagar, District Gurdaspur. According to the FIR registered on this regard, earlier in Tarn Taran, there have been deaths due to related spirit and spurious liquor. The accused had fashioned a gang in collusion with the tanker drivers who used to carry spirit from factories in Sansarpur Terrace in Himachal Pradesh and took out the spirit and made fake liquor, bought it to the individuals faking it as high-quality liquor. The police have registered a case towards the accused.
Sub Inspector Nirmal Singh of CIA, who had carried out the raid, confirmed the motion taken by the CIA however declined to share any particulars.
