Last month, the Indian and Pakistani armies recommitted themselves to the 2003 ceasefire on the LoC. The return to the ceasefire was agreed upon by the director-general of navy operations of the 2 nations.
“Post the DGsMO Understanding 2021, a Brigade Commander Level Flag Meeting was held between Indian and Pakistan Army at Poonch-Rawalkot Crossing Point on 26 Mar 2021 to debate implementation mechanism as per the understanding,” the military tweeted.
On Thursday, Army Chief Gen MM Naravane mentioned the LoC has been silent for the primary time in round 5 to 6 years as not a single shot was fired in March barring an odd incident.
At the identical time, he mentioned the phobia infrastructure together with terrorist launch-pads on the Pakistani aspect remained intact,
“I’m glad to tell that in the entire month of March, now we have not had a single shot fired on the Line of Control barring an odd incident. It is for the primary time in about 5 – 6 years that the LoC has been silent. That actually bodes properly for the longer term,” Naravane had mentioned.
