Soon after the passage of GNCTD modification invoice within the Rajya Sabha, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday stated it was a “unhappy day” for democracy and confused that his wrestle to restore power back to the individuals would continue.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia referred to as it a “darkish day” for democracy.

Look on the irony, the Parliament was used to assassinate democracy which known as the temple of our democracy. People of Delhi will fight in opposition to this dictatorship #BJPFearsKejriwal,” Sisodia tweeted in Hindi.
The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday accepted the invoice giving primacy to Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (L-G) over the elected authorities after excessive drama within the House that noticed uproar by the opposition and a walkout by MPs of events just like the BJD, SP, Congress and the YSR-Congress.
The laws was handed in Rajya Sabha by a voice vote on Wednesday. However, a division was sought by the opposition when the federal government moved the invoice for consideration. During voting, 83 members have been in favour whereas 45 opposed the invoice. Just earlier than the passage of the invoice, the Congress too walked out.
Earlier, Rajya Sabha witnessed uproar by opposition members who termed the invoice “unconstitutional” and demanded that or not it’s despatched to a Select Committee for scrutiny.
