JALANDHAR-Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori directed the District Red Cross Society to distribute ration kits to distressed households whose shanties had been gutted within the fire in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony on early morning.
The households of migrant labourers had been dwelling within the colony for the previous few years and had misplaced their belongings in a fire.
Deputy Commissioner mentioned that ration kits containing Flour (Atta), Dal (pulse), Sugar, tea and mustard oil, dry milk, spices, cleaning soap, greens, and others to be distributed by the society for which he has already instructed the secretary to do the identical.
He mentioned that the incident could be very unlucky and it’s the ethical obligation of the district administration to assist the affected households on this hour of grief.
