CHANDIGARH: On the event of International Women’s Day, holding in view the interrelationship of elections and girls, the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab carried out numerous contests in all of the 22 districts of the state. An essay writing competitors was held for SVEEP Nodal Officers on the subject – “How does ladies’s participation strengthen democracy? What steps should be taken to make sure the participation of younger ladies?”
Quiz competitions had been carried out for the Campus Ambassadors and in-charges of and Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs). The theme of the quiz competitors was -“The Role of Women in Elections and Politics.” 235 Campus Ambassadors and 156 Electoral Literacy Club in-charges took half within the quiz competitions respectively.
