New Delhi, Feb 24: The Supreme Court Tuesday cautioned a regulation scholar not to deal with the judges as “Your honour” because it was not the “US Supreme Court”.
“When you name us ‘Your Honour’ it seems that you’ve got the US Supreme Court in thoughts,” a bench of Chief Justice S A Bobde and Justices A S Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian advised the regulation scholar.

He instantly apologised to the bench and mentioned that he would deal with the court docket as “Your Lordship”.
To this, CJI Bobde mentioned: “Whatever, however do not use inappropriate phrases”.

The bench advised him that in the US Supreme Court and in magisterial court docket right here, the court docket could be addressed as “Your honour” however not in Indian Supreme Court.
