
Donald Trump attacks Senate GOP leader McConnell after acquittal
Former US President Donald Trump attacked Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, days after seven Republican senators joined all 50 Democrats in voting to convict him of inciting the lethal January 6 Capitol riot.
“Mitch is a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack, and if Republican Senators are going to stick with him, they won’t win once more,” Trump stated in an announcement launched via his Save America tremendous PAC on Tuesday, blaming McConnell for Republican Party’s 2020 Senate losses, Xinhua information company reported.
“He won’t ever do what must be finished, or what is correct for our Country. Where needed and acceptable, I’ll again main rivals who espouse Making America Great Again and our coverage of America First. We need sensible, robust, considerate, and compassionate management,” stated Trump.
McConnell voted to acquit Trump on Saturday however sharply criticized the previous president for inciting the Capitol riot.
