
Uttarakhand Disaster: Amit Shah speaks to CM Trivendra Singh Rawat; assures all help
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday spoke to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and guaranteed him of all attainable help to cope with the scenario arising within the wake of glacier burst and floods within the state’s Chamoli district.
In a sequence of tweets in Hindi, Shah additionally mentioned groups of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed for rescue and reduction operations of the affected folks whereas further troops of the drive are being airlifted from Delhi.
“I’ve spoken to Chief Minister @tsrawatbjp ji, DG ITBP and DG NDRF concerning the pure catastrophe in Uttarakhand. All the involved officers are engaged on a struggle footing to safe the folks. NDRF groups have left for rescue operations. Every attainable help shall be supplied to ‘Devbhoomi’,” he mentioned.

Shah mentioned the central authorities is continually monitoring the scenario in Uttarakhand.
“Some extra groups of NDRF are being airlifted from Delhi and despatched to Uttarakhand. We are continually monitoring the scenario there,” he mentioned.
A house ministry spokesman mentioned a complete of 4 NDRF groups (about 200 personnel) are being airlifted to Dehradun and they’ll attain Joshimath.
A glacier broke off in Joshimath in Chamoli district on Sunday, inflicting a large flood within the Dhauli Ganga river and endangering the lives of individuals residing alongside its banks. Massive destruction is feared.
