Barnala: Under the ‘Har Ghar Jal, Har Ghar Safai’ mission run by the Punjab Government, ‘Public Toilet Complexes’ are being arrange in 49 villages of Barnala district with the principle goal of offering sanitation services to the migrants and different poor sections. Under the primary section of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the federal government had offered monetary help for the development of latrines within the houses of the individuals and now beneath the second section latrines are being constructed for the migrants coming to work within the villages.
Darshan Singh, a resident of village Thikriwal stated that now the laborers coming to his village for work functions within the fields wouldn’t have to face any drawback and building of the toilettes wouldn’t let to unfold air pollution and the sanitation services would be higher. Deputy Commissioner Barnala Tej Partap Singh Phoolka stated that toilets are being constructed in 49 villages. Many poor households didn’t have toilets due to lack of area, this mission will even profit these households. He stated that the work on public toilets in all of the villages is predicted to be accomplished by March. Acting Engineer Water Supply and Sanitation Gurwinder Singh Dhindsa stated that every village is being offered a neighborhood rest room undertaking with 4 bathroom-cum-toilets. There will be 2-2 toilets for women and men and any one in every of these toilets will be for the disabled, which can be constructed as per the demand of the village panchayat. The whole value of a posh is Rs. 3.10 lakhs, out of which Rs. 2.10 lakhs will be offered beneath Swachh Bharat Mission and Rs. 90,000 will be offered beneath the fifteenth Finance Commission.
