Shashi Tharoor and a few journalists face sedition fees over posts on tractor rally

A police case has been filed towards Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and 6 journalists for allegedly “misreporting” and “spreading disharmony” on Republic Day when a tractor rally by farmers turned violent in Delhi. All of them face fees together with sedition, legal conspiracy and selling enmity below the Indian Penal Code.
The First Information Report (FIR) towards them was filed at a police station in Noida on a grievance by a resident of the town close to Delhi, who alleged “digital broadcasts” and “social media posts” by Mr Tharoor and the journalists, who claimed {that a} farmer had been shot lifeless by the Delhi Police, contributed to the siege of the Red Fort and violence in the course of the tractor rally.
